Mary Eileen McDonnell (born April 28th, 1952) is a famous American stage actor and TV actor. McDonnell has been awarded the Academy Award nod for the part she was on Dances with Wolves, as Stands With A Fist. In addition to this role McDonnell is also well-known for her role as Laura Roslin (President of Battlestar Galactica), the president's spouse in Independence Day as well as her leading role in the role of Donnie Darko's mom.
